Kirstie Alley Gained 83 Pounds

Kirstie Alley gained 83 pounds. Do you know why Kirstie Alley gained 83 pounds? I do not want to say, “I told you so,” but Kirstie Alley’s weight gain is hardly surprising. Why was it easy to predict Kirstie Alley’s weight gain of 83 pounds? There are many reasons, one of them has been already described in Why Kirstie Alley Is Fat Again, but new details unravel an interesting wrinkle in her weight-loss battle.

How does one go from 140 pounds to 228 pounds? Yes, Kirstie Alley’s current weight is an astonishing 228 pounds. People gain weight for different reasons; Alley blames her weight gain on her apparent inability to control how much she eats. In short, her daily calorie intake got out of control – think too much butter, Chinese food and simple carbohydrates.

The sad thing about her situation is that she still has not learned why she has gained weight. Sure, it is easy to blame butter, sugar or any other foods for that matter, but she was unable to maintain her weight loss because just like many other celebrities lately, she has chosen an easy way to lose weight.

Instead of learning about nutrition, and how to make healthy food choices, she mindlessly ate what was delivered to her. How hard could it be to follow Jenny Craig, especially if you are getting paid to lose weight? Not hard at all. As soon as she has left Jenny Craig, however, she turned to her old eating habits. Why? Because she has not learned anything. She has not learned how to eat healthy.

So, what can she do now to turn her weight gain into a positive experience? Firs, she should stop blaming food. There is nothing wrong with eating butter, sugar or Chinese food, in moderation, of course. Second, she has to accept responsibility for what happened. It is not Jenny Craig’s fault that she has not learned how to control her food cravings.

Sure, Jenny Craig or any other pre-packaged diet program does not really encourage people to learn about dieting, but at the same time, it does not prevent people from taking proactive steps to learn about nutrition and weight loss.

Third, Kirstie should forget about personal trainers and commercial diets, and lose weight on her own terms. [source: People]
