Kirstie Alley Fat Again: Weight Gain

Kirstie Alley Fat Again Weight Gain

Is Kirstie Alley fat again? Alley has certainly gained a lot of weight. Who does she blame for this? Well, that is where it gets a little tricky. When she parted ways with Jenny Craig last February, Alley was adamant that it was not going to be the end other weight-loss war.

But recently, the 57-year-old Alley has revealed the truth behind her diet struggles and her positive plans for the future. After losing 75 pounds and reaching her goal weight of 145 pounds in November 2006 while sticking to a 1,400-calorie-a-day diet on Jenny Craig, 5’8″ Kirstie maintained it for a short time.

Now she admits that she has gained back 30 pounds during the past five months. “What can I say? I operate best under pressure and I plan to lose not only those 30 pounds but find a few new ones to lose as well,” says Kirstie. Is she addicted to yo-yo dieting?

Although Kirstie has reached a bump in her dieting road, she is not ready to give up on her dreams of being – and staying – slim. “I’m going to nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand,” she told a friend.

Kirstie Alley’s Weight Gain Program She seems to be hard at work with plans to launch her own weight-loss program in 2009. Huh? Yes, she is crazy like that. Why would a person who is not successful at losing weight and keeping it off, would want to launch a weight loss program? Oh, that’s right, because she can.

What is going to be the name of this program? Kirstie Alley’s Weight Gain Plan or something?

“I’m developing it,” Kirstie says. “I want to create something new that will help millions of people end the never-ending fatty roller-coaster ride.” “She wants to lose the weight her way and then share her secrets with the world. She’ll be more credible if she starts off bigger, gets skinny and stays skinny,” says an insider. [via]

Will somebody give the girl a break? !!! Have you ever been there…done that?! Well, I have and it’s not a fun life to live when you enjoy food so much. Kirstie..you go girl….start the new weight loss plan….and we will all do it with you. I’m proud of you for talking about it. You are not alone in this venture. People are so critical and so cruel. If you have not ever walked in Kirstie’s shoes…then you have no idea how hard it is.
    Good Luck Kirstie Alley!

Seems she has gained back more than 30 lbs. and the yo-yo dieting, and her age, will make it harder to lose weight. I know… been there, done that, got the tee shirt to prove it. I wish her well, and if she has a new and better way of losing weight and keeping it off, I’ll be watching and taking notes.

The problem is that people look at the process of losing weight as a temporary one–that is, modify your diet to a reduction diet until you get to the weight you want. The reality is that whatever you do to get down to your desired weight is what you will have to do for the rest of your life. Additionally, if you think that you can just use diet without exercise to lose weight at keep it off, you’re dreaming.

BTW, yes, I have been there. At one point, I was 60 lbs heavier than I am now (I was nearly 210, now I am about 143). However, it wasn’t anything new or fancy, just the old equation: calories consumed vs. calories burned.

Basically, you have two choices: exercise and decreased caloric or stay fat.

I know how hard it is to lose weight and you need all the support you can get. I totally support Kristie and I hope she does come up with a plan that will work to help yo-yo dieters and food-aholics. Your awesome Kristie and I know you can do this. Just please remember not everyone can afford to pay a fortune to lose weight and continue to feed their families at the same time. Please, try for something that a common person can filter into a small family budget.
    Go get em Kristie!!

Steve, you are dead on. People have got to quit all these lunatic diets, and I include Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem in that ilk. It’s all foolishness. Weight Watchers is the only one out there that has any sense behind it, as it’s designed to be a PERMANENT LIFESTYLE change. Who can eat Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem prepared foods all the rest of their lives? No one. So the ONLY good diet is one that works long-time in the real world, and that’s one that treats the underlying cause, not just the symptoms, of weight gain… unhealthy eating. Eat healty, count your calories, exercise regularly, and you’ll be successful. Period.

I agree about Weight Watchers. You don’t need to eat special foods, you don’t need to buy certain foods. You CAN eat whatever you want – the key is to learn SELF CONTROL and MODERATION. It involves making SMART SENSIBLE CHOICES.

You know what – I don’t care that Kirstie has gained weight – it’s frankly none of my business. I feel sorry for her. I am almost as heavy as she is (I’m working to lose 70 pounds right now.)

But the fact is – she opened herself up for this by being very public about her weight loss with Jenny Craig. I would not have publicized my self like that. I feel bad that she’s been constant fodder for tabloids. I really do. :(

Ya know I am not sure why she is so concerned about loosing weight any way. She is gorgeous at any weight, she just has the curves in all the right places so even if she was super chubby she’d look fabulous! I think people should not give her a hard time and let her be who and what she wants. She would be an awesome advocate for being fat and fit at the same time, although I know that is not considered ideal in the immage driven media.

I think Wizzy is right, “she opened herself up for this by being very public about her weight loss with Jenny Craig.” If she was serious about loosing weight she would just do it, and then reappear slim. I think she likes the attention. Hopefully she will figure out what she wants and just do it.

I used to think Kristie Alley was one of the most beautiful women ever, but since changed my mind.

I have been following her on Twitter and found some of her comments down right nasty. She really has a potty mouth. I’m very disappointed in her. I’m no longer a fan.
