We now know how and why she has lost 20 pounds, but what do we know about Kimberly Caldwell’s diet? We know that prior to losing weight Kimberly Caldwell’s diet was pretty bad.
Now, however, Kimberly Caldwell’s diet is much better. For example, she has learned about portion control, and she has learned how to control her eating habits without depriving herself of her favorite foods.
On this new diet Kimberly eats about 2,000 calories a day, which is a good number. All people are different, of course, but 2,000 calories a day usually works well for most women of her age. Here is a bit more information about Caldwell’s diet habits from a recent interview with her.
Did you have a specific diet to follow? My trainer gave me a list of foods, like the little packets of almonds from Whole Foods. I learned to have a full glass of water before I sit down to a meal and to eat the veggies before I eat everything else. It’s just about tricking your mind into thinking you’re full. And no soda. I drink so much water now.
Are you currently on a maintenance diet? At the beginning, I was very strict and wouldn’t allow myself to have pizza and fries and cheeseburgers. But once I dropped about 10 pounds, I thought, I can still do this and work out and go back to my everyday diet.
Do you see yourself differently in the mirror? Oh yeah! It’s so funny, because I’m not a vain person whatsoever. But at the same time, I just wanted to be able to put on my sports bra and go running and not feel uncomfortable. It wasn’t about how everybody else saw me, it was about the fact that I felt uncomfortable.
What do you wear to show off your figure? My arms have always been my insecure spot. I used to always wear sleeves, but now I’ve been able to wear tank tops. That’s the thing. Everybody says, “Well, you were never fat,” and I don’t want anyone to think that I ever thought I was. I just wasn’t in the shape I could have been, and why live your life being mediocre.
