Kelly Ripa Workout Plan

We already know a lot about Kelly Ripa’s workout and diet, but in a recent interview, Ripa has revealed additional detail about her workout plan and diet habits. So here is everything you ever wanted to know about Kelly Ripa’s workout plan.

With such a jam-packed schedule, how do you find time to work out? Now it’s easier because I have three kids in school. When Joaquin was home, I didn’t have a lot of time. Whenever he was napping, I would get on the treadmill. But if you want something bad enough, you have to get up early and do it or wait until the kids go to bed. I go during lunch break.

What’s your workout regimen like? I work out every day. I try never to take a day off. For me, one day off leads to two days off, leads to five days off. I’m an all-or-nothing person. I go between running and doing Physique 57, the exercise class I do at least four days a week.

What is Physique 57? It’s a great core-fusion exercise class. It’s a lot of core work. It’s a combination of Pilates, yoga, aerobics and weights set to really high-intensity music. It’s using your own body weight to build muscle. It’s a phenomenal class.

What kind of music do you like to work out to? Oh, my gosh, I have a whole list. I love Run-DMC’s “It’s Like That.” It’s old school. It needs to have a good beat. Anything with a good disco beat.

Does it matter to you what you wear when you work out? Working out is hard enough, and I use any excuse to get out of exercising. It’s hard to motivate yourself to work out, and if you feel like you look dumpy, you’re not going to do it. But I believe that if you look good and feel fit, you will be fit before you know it.

Do you have any diet tips? Everything in moderation, because as soon as you deprive yourself, you’re going to want it more and you’re going to eat more of it. No deprivation, just moderation.

What’s your favorite healthy snack? I’m into soy cakes. They’re like mini rice cakes. They have them in various flavors like cheese, salt and pepper or apple and cinnamon. They’re really healthy, lots of protein, no fat, no sugar. They’re good.

Do you have any favorite indulgences? Pizza. It’s everything I love. It’s salt, cheese, crust, sauce, toppings, sausage…. It’s everything delicious! And I live in New York City, land of the greatest pizza on Earth. Every day you could have a different delicious piece of pizza. [via]
