Kathy Ireland Weight Loss

Kathy Ireland Weight Loss

Continued from Kathy Ireland’s weight gain.

Can Kathy Ireland’s weight loss be any more inconsequential? Kathy Ireland’s weight loss is as boring as mashed potatoes, which can only be matched by the dullness of Valerie Bertinelli’s diet and workout and Valerie Bertinelli’s bikini cover.

What is wrong with Kathy Ireland’s weight loss? First of all, since she has claimed that she was totally unaware of gaining 25 pounds, why couldn’t she lose weight quietly and in total ignorance? It seems only logical to assume that one can be as unaware of losing weight as of a weight gain.

Second, if you go public with your weight gain and with your weight loss story, I want to learn something from you. But what can we learn from Kathy Ireland’s weight loss? Um, nothing! There is nothing in it we have not heard before.

Okay, yes, we do know how she lost weight. Obviously, she had to change her eating habits and reduce her daily calorie intake. She accomplished this goal by changing her snacking habits – she has not eliminated snacking completely, she just switched to healthier snacking options – she has also significantly reduced her simple carbs intake by cutting down on sweets. As for exercise, Kathy started exercising three times a week.

The bottom line on Kathy Ireland’s weight loss Just like Bertinelli, Kathy gets major points for achieving her goal. That said, Kathy Ireland’s weight loss is a product of a cookie-cutter approach to dealing with weight issues in Hollywood. This approach is not only useless to most people, it also sends a wrong message.

Why is it useless? How many people can afford to hire a personal trainer and a nutritionist when they need to lose weight? Not many, right? But that is what Ireland and Bertinelli did. Kathy lost weight because her personal trainer told her how to lose weight and because she was supervised during her weight-loss process. [via]

There is only one way to safely lose weight: stop eating junk food, cut back on calories and get off your hind end in front of the tv. Sounds like this is what Kathy and Valerie did. So what if they could afford help? How hard is it to do on your own? I have 5 kids and got up to 175 pounds with each pregnancy. At the age of 45, I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror, I still weighed 140 (I’m 5′3″) and looked puffy and fat. I cut way back on calories, cut junk food out completely and I exercise by walking for 1 1/2 hours a day, every day, 7 days a week. I don’t even take Christmas off. I now weigh 105 and am in the best shape I’ve ever been in in my entire life. It’s not hard to do, you just have to WANT it more than you want chocolate chip cookies and potato chips.
