Katharine McPhee: Weight loss, Diet and Workout
The Season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, lost 30 pounds and three sizes! How?
Following Intuitive Eating, a program that helped McPhee beat the obsessive eating patterns at the root of her five-year battle with bulimia, for which she sought treatment in October 2005.
“I’ve gotten pretty good about it…dealing with food,” the 5-foot-8 singer, 22, tells Us Weekly.
“I’m not controlling my weight anymore.” “Casting directors [told me to lose] 10 more pounds,” McPhee has said.
Katharine McPhee’s Diet
“I eat what I want – pizza, pasta with marinate sauce, ice cream, bread – but now I pay attention to how I feel while I’m eating,” the Los Angeles native, who avoids red meat but loves Snickers, told Shape magazine of her adherence to the Intuitive Eating plan.
“When I’m full, I stop.”
Katharine McPhee’s Workout
“Last year, truthfully I had not tome work out,” the singer has said. “All I want to do now is get on a treadmill for 45 minutes four or five times a week and do weight training.”
Take-away Tip
Choose inspiring workout music to keep you moving! McPhee’s faves: Sheryl Crow’s “Strong Enough” and Kanye West’s “The New Workout Plan.” McPhee eats what she craves, but stops when full. [source: Us Weekly]
