Katharine McPhee: Bulimia and Dieting

Katharine McPhee: Bulimia and DietingAfter struggling with bulimia for five years, Katharine McPhee has finally achieved a healthy relationship with food.

“I eat like a normal person,” she tells In Touch. “I don’t diet. Diets are what made me so crazy about food.”

Now, the American Idol star hopes she can be an example to others struggling with body issues. “Don’t try to be a size you’re not naturally,” advises McPhee.

“The important thing is that you feed your body, eat good food and let yourself have little splurges here and mere!”

Do you ever worry you’ll fall back into bad eating habits?

No, I don’t. I eat normally and stay a certain body size.

What’s your favorite body part?

No matter how up or down my weight has been, I’ve always had a very flat stomach that I like to show off.

Is there any celebrity who has a body you’re jealous of?

Jessica Biel, hands down. Her butt and legs are so ridiculous. If I worked out, mat’s how I’d want my legs to look.

You don’t work out?

No. I’m not very disciplined when it comes to exercise.

How do you stay in shape?

I enjoy going to dance class and work out that way. I like jazz dance.

Would you ever consider getting plastic surgery?

I’m too afraid of needles to get anything done! People in Hollywood have gone overboard. I’m totally into aging gracefully.

So you’ve ruled it out?

I don’t want to change something about my body that I can work out and get the same result. But I would consider a boob job after I have five babies and my boobs are down to my ankles!

After auditioning for American Idol in 2005, Katharine McPhee sought help for her eating disorder with the support of her parents and boyfriend Nick Cokas.
