Kara DioGuardi Eating Disorder
Kara DioGuardi’s eating disorder is the thing of the past. But when she was younger, Kara DioGuardi’s eating disorder was a real problem for her.
“I was a binge eater. I was not bulimic or anorexic, but would overeat to anesthetize what was going on in my life,” says DioGuardi.
“Part of it was because I wasn’t being creative. I was trying to be a lawyer, doctor, straight-A student, go to college, but I wanted to do music. Until I got real with myself, I had those issues,” she says.
Kara DioGuardi’s eating disorder was successfully treated in a treatment center, and now she is helping others: She has opened a recording studio in L.A. rehab facility Phoenix House, with the goal of helping residents heal through music. [source: Us Weekly]
