Jillian Reynolds (Barberie): Diet and Weight Loss
While she was pregnant, Jillian Reynolds (nee Barberie) has gained weight, a lot of weight in fact.
But since giving birth to her daughter, Ruby, Jillian’s weight loss has been an amazing demonstration of how quickly it is possible to lose weight.
She has lost 32 pounds of the 40 pounds she gained. Here is how she lost all that weight and got in shape.
What has it been like getting in shape after having Ruby? I thought it would be a lot easier. It’s something you really have to work at. I started doing NutriSystem a month after Ruby was born, and that makes it easy.
Their breakfasts are my favorite: They’ve got all kinds of muffins, and eggs too. Lunches are small-portion pastas. And for snacks, I eat protein bars, soy chips, barbecue chips and pretzels.
Did you indulge a lot when you were pregnant? When I got pregnant, I was like, “Oh, my god, this is a license to eat every carb that I haven’t eaten in five years!” I ate potatoes, specifically french fries. If I was at a restaurant, I would eat the whole bread basket – and then order pasta.
You have lost 32 pounds. Why do you want to lose the final eight? I’m going to do a NutriSystem commercial in January, and I’m going to be in a bikini – that’s an incentive to lose weight!
Did you work out in the past? I didn’t ever want to work out. I’ve never joined a gym; I’m not disciplined like that.
Did you work out while you were pregnant? No. The doctor said it’s not a good idea to start exercising with a baby if you’re over 40. I took exactly what he said to heart and didn’t do anything. [source: OK!]
