Jillian Michaels: The Biggest Loser
First of all I would just like to say I’m a real fan of the work you do on Biggest Loser. Currently I’m 5′7 and weigh 227 lbs. 2 months ago I weighed 250 lbs. I’m currently following a diet with Weight Watchers and using the exercises of Body for Life as a template.
The reason I’m emailing you is two fold. First I wanted to know if the diet program and exercise program I’m using is sufficient to help me lose to my goal weight of 180. I feel as if it was perfect for helping with portion size but not sure if it’s what I need to succeed exactly.
Secondly I have set an enormous goal besides my weight loss and changing myself mentally as well. I want to become a personal trainer. As an overweight person who has struggled with it my whole life I really think that once I’m healthy I could give people the kind of motivation they need. I already greatly enjoy and feel lifted by sharing the tips and advice I’ve learned from watching the show, reading and going to health classes.
My question is what does one need to do (besides getting in shape and being an inspiration) to further that goal? Are there certifications you need to get and certain college classes you need or that are helpful to take? Is it a viable career for most people or a job to enjoy on the side. How do you go about getting a job in the field? Do you start with a gym or by just going it alone?
Thanks for all your advice and keep up the wonderful work on the show. Daniel. [via Ask Questions]
Daniel, I do not do any work on The Biggest Loser. I think you were trying to reach Jillian Michaels. I do not know if she reads this blog, but if she does, I hope she will answer your questions.
