Jenny McCarthy: Weight Loss & Weight Watchers

Jenny McCarthy: Weight Loss & Weight WachersJenny McCarthy and Weight Watchers? Oh yeah!

Some celebs have an amazing ability to snap back into shape after having a baby, but when Jenny McCarthy had her son four years ago, she wasn’t quite as lucky.

“I was over 200 pounds when I checked into the hospital to give birth to Evan,” Jenny tells In Touch.

And much to her surprise, after she gave birth in May 2002, she was still a whopping 55 pounds overweight.

“I was in denial for the first month,” she says. Then reality struck. “I went into my bathroom, got naked and turned on the overhead lighting,” she shares.

“I turned around and said, ‘Oh, my God.’” Jenny knew she had to lose weight — for her career and her health — but she didn’t know how.

“I tried a trainer,” the 34-year-old says, joking, “I remember going, ‘I’m gonna try anorexia.’” But her good sense prevailed, and Jenny asked her mother’s opinion on better options.

After a brief telephone chat with her mom, Linda, she decided to ditch those crazy Hollywood fad diets in favor of something tried and true: Weight Watchers.

“My mom said she lost 30 pounds in two months,” she says. So Jenny took the plunge. With little Evan in tow, the self-effacing celebrity was ready to shed those extra pounds — and her pride.

“I strolled my fat butt in there with my baby,” says Jenny, who attended weekly meetings — just like any other Weight Watchers member — until she reached her goal.

“It took me seven months to get down to my goal weight,” she says. Now back down to a slim 125 pounds, the sexy mama can finally fit into her pre-pregnancy jeans again. No wonder she is happy to promote Weight Watchers‘ new campaign: Be an After, Stay an After.

“I’m a Midwestern girl, and we eat,” says Jenny, who’s kept the weight off for three years. “I think they couldn’t have found a better person.” [source: In Touch]
