Most of the omelets that people make at home are pretty low in calories. An egg white omelet, for example, is the lowest in calories. Even if you add some cheese to a typical omelet, it is not easy to add an unreasonable amount of calories.

But not all omelets are created equal. Some omelets try to stand out in the calories department and IHOP is clearly the winner here. IHOP’s big steak omelet is certainly delicious, no arguments there, but when it comes to calories, IHOP is better give away a free treadmill with this omelet.

There are 1,490 calories in IHOP’s big steak omelet. And since now is the winter time, an obvious question seems to be: How much effort would it take to burn off 1,490 calories?

The answer: 10 miles. You would need to ski cross-country for 10 miles to burn off the calories in IHOP’s big steak omelet. [via Men’s Health]
