I Called Jenny Craig to Lose Weight

Want to lose 13 pounds in 5 weeks? No problem, just call Jenny Craig, or do not and lose weight on your own without spending any money on pre-packed diets. The disclaimer on the bottom of this ad states that “Clients following our program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs per week,” but hey, she lost over 13 pounds in 5 weeks, which means she was losing weight at the rate of about 3 pounds per week. Why? What is so special about her? Why is she above average?

Some people can lose weight faster than others, it is true and it happens every day, but shouldn’t the disclaimer for this be a headline? She is in the minority. People should not expect to lose 13 pounds in 5 weeks; in fact, I think those who successfully lose weight generally have low weight-loss expectations. It does not matter which diet you will choose to follow, be conservative with your expectations and set realistic weight-loss goals.
