I Broke My Penis
Which is worse: a broken heart or a fractured penis?
You can probably find another girlfriend, but a penis is forever. The penis isn’t a bone, so it can’t be fractured.
The injury refers to the rupture of the corpus cavernosum – the sponge-like tissue in the penis that collects blood during an erection.
The injury often occurs during intercourse when the woman is on top and the penis slides out of the vagina and slams into the taint (the perineum – the region between the vagina and the anus: taint ass, taint vagina).
It can also result from blunt trauma to the erect penis while falling out of bed or rolling over during sleep.
The injury is a medical emergency that can lead to abscess, permanent curvature of the penis, pain during erection and sex, erectile dysfunction and hardening of the penile arteries.
Surgery is the preferred method of treatment for serious penile ruptures because it results in fewer complications than conservative management (i.e., cold compresses, pressure wraps, splinting and anti-inflammatory medications) [sources: Nature Clinical Practice Urology, FitnessRx]
