How to Rotate Exercise DVDs

I have the new Jillian Michaels workout dvds (Banish Fat, No More Trouble Zones, 30 Day Shred). I don’t understand how to rotate them so that I’m using them all. Can you please explain the rotation of the dvds? Breanne. [via Ask Questions]

I do not think it matters much how you rotate your exercise DVDs. I think it is much more important to focus on actual exercises. Her routines are pretty intense, so make sure to properly warm-up before each workout to avoid injury. To increase your chances of having steady energy levels throughout your exercise sessions, and to insure that your body can properly recover after a workout, it is important to supply your body with nutritious foods, just keep that in mind.

But to answer your question, assuming you exercise three times a week, you can do 30 Day Shred on Monday, Banish Fat on Wednesday and No More Trouble Zones on Friday.

Another alternative is not to rotate them at all. Why not? Because it is hard to understand whether a given exercise DVD is working for you or not when you do them all in one week. I think a much better idea is to follow one DVD for at least four-to-six consecutive weeks (preferably six), assess its effectiveness, and only then move on to the next DVD.
