How To Manage Sugar Cravings

Sugar Cravings

In Kill Your Sugar Cravings For Good I talked about how you can replace sugar with Erythritol. This natural sugar substitute has many health benefits; of course, Erythritol has a big fight on his hands to win us over from our beloved sugar.

Reportedly, some people run to White Castle for double jalapeno cheeseburger with a large Coke, every time they hear words “sugar substitute”. Who can blame them? Those burgers are so good they can start a war.

Regardless of your stance on sugar or its substitutes, there are times when sugar cravings can be a real problem. They have a fungoid personality that annoys many people around the world. Thankfully, there is a way out of this prison, and you do not need Supreme Court of Sugar Cravings to issue a release paper.

If you follow these steps, I guarantee you…no, I am not going to guarantee you anything, because these simple techniques work regardless of what I say.

Breakfast – A breakfast is not just a breakfast; it is the most important meal of the day. It is also a perfect time to eat carbohydrate dense food. Do not skip it!

Junk Carbs – If you do not want to go on a date with sugar cravings, run and hide from junk carbohydrates (if you do not know what they are email me).

5-HTP – If your serotonin level is low, it can contribute to sugar, or carbohydrate cravings. Supplementing with 5-HTP can be helpful in this situation. It is also known to curb appetite, and improve mood. However, always consult with a licensed physician before starting 5-HTP supplementation.

Smaller Meals – Try to eat smaller meal more often. Never go without snacking or having a complete meal for more than 5 hours.

Snacks – If you need to snack, protein-based foods is your best bet – beef jerky, pemmican, nuts (assorted nuts with small amount of dehydrated fruit is ok), canned fish (preferably with no added salt, packed in olive oil, water, or tomato sauce), cheese, quality protein bars, hard-boiled eggs.

Sleep – Getting enough sleep has more benefits than methane coming out of the ocean’s bottom. If you do not get enough of it, your stress level can increase. Elevated stress level often leads to cravings for sugary foods.

Glutamine – Dissolve one serving in water, say your prayers, and drink it. Nah, it is not bad, but you can substitute water with cream, half-and-half, or protein smoothie.

Blood Sugar – One of the best ways to control blood sugar is to eat protein and fat with every meal. Choose healthy sources of protein such as chicken, turkey, fish, lean cuts of red meat (ideally grass fed), shrimp, lean pork, any seafood.
