How Long Will I Live?Continued from Secrets of Longevity: Live to Be 100.

Aren’t our bodies designed for a long life? Yes, in my book [Secrets of Longevity], I talk about the three major principles of longevity. The first: Our bodies want to live to 100.

If we give our bodies extra nourishment, in other words, give the body what it needs to thrive, then it will actually give back health, vitality, energy, productivity and enjoyment.

Then we will learn to just get out of the way. The second is human behavior. This is the biggest obstacle for people in achieving health and longevity potential. We all know what those behaviors are. It could be laziness, lack of exercise, sweet tooth or over-indulgence.

The third principle is to work on yourself spiritually. Work on community. Work on the joys in life. The purpose. The meaning. That’s really where we need to spend time. Knowing how to take care of ourselves means not running to the doctor.

That’s the key isn’t it? Prevention and attitude? Balance. It’s all about staying in the balance. And that balance is in flux. That’s why we have to constantly maintain. We’re all responsible for our own health and well-being.

If we learn good habits, we’ll recognize the body can indeed thrive to live over a hundred in a really vital and productive manner… And only by being healthy and full of energy can we manifest what our lives are about.
