well, i think this is a girl discussion but im going to intervene...im 6'0 200 pounds but im all muscle and i eat the shitty most carbed up food you can find and im still perfectly tone....i only exercise a couple hours each day doing some really basic stuff, and there is nothing wrong with hilary's diet its just she is a celebrity and if your not fit you get made a joke by the fag paparazzi...so i don't blame her for not eating anything...she's a great girl and i support her. and to those who said she is skinny, she isnt. she has the avarage sized body except its tone instead of just alittle fit from not eating any carbs. personally id choose her over a "skinny" model who considers herself hot cause she has no stomach.

1200 calories is said to be the lowest a women should eat to lose weight at a healthy pace (1-2 lbs per week). You guys have to remember she is in the public eye, and eating 1100 calories isn't bad. She will be lacking certain nutrients, especially since she has cut down on the grains she eats, her liver will certainly have to work harder with those missing carbs. Also, her workouts are not 'intense' workouts, they are moderate, and although she appears to be 'really skinny' she is at a healthy weight for her height.
And like a few people have said before, this is not her full diet and also the calorie counts they have given are not accurate.

This isn't her full diet people!
She's just giving an idea of some of the things she might eat.
Common sense. Please use it.

breakfast lunch and dinner is not enough to sustain proper health and a good figure. hilary is short so her weight from earlier years had to be adjusted. she looks good now and the meal base plan is healthy enough. lots of lean protein, fresh fruit and vegs, nuts and milk is good for any healthy diet however we are actually supposed to eat about 6 times a day. SMALLER meals of course and with that including snacks. small meal items 6 times a day, regular exercise (every other day is good enough is you go hardcore on the days you exercise because you need to let your muscles rest) and SLEEP (7-8hrs at LEAST) will keep you living til youre 90 (IF you dont smoke or drink regularly!) take my advice, im a retired fitness trainer of 93 years old :) take care and stay healthy!

In the magazine that diet plan originaly came from, it says this is the base of Hilary's diet. She has said in many interviews that within the past year her cheating moments have become daily but she still eats healthy.

In 2005 it was completely obvious that Hilary wasn't eating correctly and it was effecting her body and mood a lot. Hilary now admits "I wasn't eating a balanced diet, and I did get too thin." Also, her face was probably the worst place she lost weight in...but it looked more sunk in due to her capped teeth(thank god their smaller now!)

Within the past year Hilary has gained a lot of weight. I've noticed her arms and legs are more chubby. Now, she looks amazing with her killer abs in 'Shape' magazine and I'm sure dancing every night on her Dignity world tour helps her toned/curvy body.

Great job Hil!

Thats not starving. A lot of people just would feel like they are cuz they waste their lives away eating 5000 calories of ice cream and candy bars. And why the hell would you need to add TWO more meals to your day. Thats just being a fatty. All you need it breakfast, lunch, And dinner, and you dont even need a snack. Its optional. Plus its not like its a diet consisting of tea and wheat thins. Its healthy food.

p.s.

i should mention that having the kind of healthy, balanced diet i mentioned above is not going to get you a hilary duff body. that's not achievable for most women on a healthy, balanced diet. you'd have to starve yourself and be diligent about exercise.

it has taken me years to arrive at a place where i realize i'd rather define the boundaries of femininity and beauty for myself rather than sacrifice my health, happiness and pleasure to fit into the cultural standard.
