Help Find a Cure for Alzheimer’s and Cancer
PlayStations don’t just cause tired eyes and sore thumbs anymore — they can also help scientists find a cure for Alzheimer’s, cancer and other diseases.
Thanks to the Folding@home program created by Stanford University researcher Vijay Pande. PlayStation 3 owners can help find a cure for diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s — just by leaving on their consoles when not being used.
Pande said that if enough people do this, it will create what is known as a “supercomputer,” which will allow him and his colleagues to complete calculations faster. Do it! [source: Your Health]
