Heliocare: Unique Sun Protection From Europe
Heliocare is a unique supplement that takes sun protection to a new level. A relative newcomer to a US market, Heliocare comes from Europe with an excellent safety profile. In no way it is a substitute for a good sunscreen, rather, it complements it.
A good sunscreen will contain UVA and UVB blockers, but even the best ones cannot account for such factors as incorrect application, and degrading effects of UV radiation on SPF factor.
Even personal UV meters implanted into bikinis have their limitations, and this is where Heliocare comes in. It does not degrade through UV radiation, because it protects your skin from inside of your body. Unlike most antioxidants, Heliocare is active within 2 hours of the first dose. It contains extract of Polypodium leucotomos, Green tea extract and Beta-carotene.
Polypodium leucotomos is the main ingredient in Heliocare. It is an extract of a plant similar to fern. Over 10 years of research has demonstrated that, Polypodium leucotomos combined with Green tea and Beta-carotene can provide an excellent protection for your skin. In essence, Heliocare works as a potent antioxidant, protecting skin cells from DNA damage, therefore increasing skin tolerance to radiation coming from the sun.
Heliocare has no known adverse effects, and has been around for more than 10 years in Europe. However, if you are less than 18 years old, breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, do not use Heliocare. Always consult with a licensed physician before staring Heliocare supplementation.

I recently heard on the news that even more potent sunscreen is being evaluated by the FDA. The products are currently available in Europe and Canada. If approved, the SPF rating could change… The closest rating under the current system is a whopping 65!
With this kind of product, I don’t think there’s a need to take this specific supplement. However, I do agree potent superantioxidants are a good idea. One food that I’ve been researching is the acai berry–the #1 superfood as promoted by Dr. Perricone and Oprah.
