Healthy Breakfast: The Protein Omelet RecipeThis is a complete breakfast. It can give you enough energy to have a morning workout or just to recharge your batteries after a night of sleep. The egg whites and the chicken breast provide a good amount of protein.

The combination of all the vegetables makes it pretty tasty, as well. If you are not trying to lose weight, you can have a bagel with it, too.

2 mushrooms, sliced
3 tomato slices
1/4 cup onion, chopped
2 slices fat-free cheese
l cup egg whites
4 oz chicken breast, chopped
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp basil
Cooking spray

Directions Toss vegetables in nonstick skillet and saute with seasoning. Cook eggs in skillet. Add cheese and vegetables, and fold over to make omelet. Garnish with tomato slices.

Variations Add 1/4 cup chopped broccoli, or add avocado as a source of healthy fats. [source: Flex]
