What is your hand grip strength? Should you even care about your hand grip strength? Most people probably do not realize that their hand grip strength is very important. What is so special about your hand grip strength?

If you have weak hand grip strength, which most people do, it can undermine your strength-training goals, because it limits how much weight you can lift or hold. That’s not all – the most important reason to improve your hand grip strength is to avoid injury. That’s right, it is easy to pull your wrist muscles during an exercise if your hand grip strength is poor.

So what can you do? A number of exercises have been developed over the years that are designed to strengthen your grip, but it is not the best solution because most of them involve the use of dumbbells or a barbell.

A much better solution is to use something like Nike’s Hand Grip Gels. They are comfortable and are designed to accommodate a variety of hand sizes. In addition, the blocks are available in three resistance levels: easy (green), medium (orange) and hard (purple).

Most people can see an improvement in their hand grip strength in about two weeks of continues use. You can use them every day. I would not worry about overtraining with these blocks, but use common sense, 10 minutes a day for each hand is probably more than enough.
