Get the Sugar Out
Unlike her other books which dabble in popular diet fads such as detox diets and detoxing for weight loss – Get the Sugar Out, Revised and Updated 2nd Edition: 501 Simple Ways to Cut the Sugar Out of Any Diet by Ann Louise Gittleman, PhD, – is right on the money.
Get the Sugar Out has been completely revised and updated and contains very useful information that can help you achieve better health and a healthy weight range.
Did you know that excess sugar intake – which is prevalent in Western diets – has been linked to weight gain, sluggish metabolism and even some cancers?
The kicker? Our bodies can function perfectly well without processed sugar. In fact, I am willing to go as far as to say that we do not need sugar at all. But sugar is a sneaky and conniving bastard, which is why it is not easy to guard your diet from it, and that is where Get the Sugar Out comes in.
Among other informative and practical things, Get the Sugar Out teaches how to be, well, a food detective. It explains how to weed out that sneaky sugar from your diet and details the dangers of certain artificial sweeteners and, exposes the chief evil of all sugars, a.k.a. the high-fructose corn syrup.
All of this information is certainly helpful, but perhaps what I like the most about Get the Sugar Out, is a collection of satisfying recipes that are designed to feed our sweet tooth without gaining weight and compromising our health.
