Get Motivated to Lose Weight

Hi my name is Sandra. I’m a teenager 15 years to be exact and i am really overweight. I weigh around 250 pounds and I’m about 5’5″. It’s really hard for me to get motivated or set up a diet plan especially with school lunches. Can you please help lose weight? Sandra. [via Ask Questions]

Why is it hard to get motivated to lose weight for you? What exactly is the problem? I do not know, maybe I am wrong, but you do not necessarily need to get motivated to lose weight, you can just lose weight. How? By changing your eating habits. It does take much to change your eating habits. It is easy. Here is how you can lose weight and change your eating habits without dieting or exercise.

Ask yourself this question: “Why am I overweight in the first place?” School lunches? Yes, they are mostly too high in sugar and calories, but you already know this, right? That said, your eating habits when you are not in school are probably less than ideal as well. What is the solution? Obviously, it would be great if you could bring your own healthy lunch to school.

However, if that is not an option, you can still eat healthy. In other words, do not worry about things you cannot control, and take control over things that you can control. Eat a healthy breakfast at home. Always have healthy snacks with you when you go outside.  And eat a healthy dinner at home. Small changes to your diet can make a huge difference. The preferred solution would be the sugar detox, but you can lose weight by simply reducing (not completely eliminating) your consumption of fast food.

It is definitely a good idea to stay away from soda, candy bars, cookies, pizza, french fries, pasta and other foods that are high in simple carbohydrates and calories without providing any meaningful nutritional value. Having said that, since you are only 15, ask your parents to help you. If they do not know how to help you, ask them to set up an appointment with a certified nutritionist.
