Do you need free Atkins bars to lose 5 pounds in a week? No you do not need free Atkins bars to lose weight, and you do not need any protein bars to lose weight for that matter. I do not have anything against Atkins, but I think its time has past, but they make pretty good protein bars. In fact, I have several Atkins bars at home and use them from time to time. Having said that, I prefer a basic diet high in protein and moderate in complex carbohydrates that does not exclude any major food groups. There is no need to be obsessed with counting every carbohydrate you eat.

Do not get me wrong, the sugar detox is awesome, so if you are a fan of low-carb diets, I am not going to tell you not to use a low-carb diet to lose weight. Just be smart about it. Make sure that you get your daily fiber requirements. Eat lots of vegetables, fiber-rich berries, and reduced-fat dairy without any added sugar. Stay away from soda and fast food, and try to exercise regularly.
