Esai Morales Diet
Esai Morales eats meat and seems to think that organic foods may help you live a little longer. In a recent interview, Esai described details about his diet and why he sometimes gains weight.
What did you grow up eating? Mayonnaise sandwiches. I was a poor kid. I would put mayo on bread. I also had a Caribbean diet – rice, beans and meat. I try to make up for that now!
What’s your relationship with food like now? I’ve been on and off doing organic bouts for 10 years.
I’ll have a week of eating dangerously, gain about 15 pounds, and then just get back to California and try to keep it organic, raw if possible. I’m an old meat eater, but every time I feel my system clog up, I go vegetarian. I’m considering opening up an organic restaurant myself.
What is your diet like? I binge on the set. Craft services is the one thing I have to master – just walk away! Today for breakfast I had a glass of orange, carrot and celery juice and then some oatmeal with goji berries. Lunch might be kale salads or raw-fruit pies – the crust is made out of dates and walnuts and shredded coconut. For dinner, I will eat quinoa, spelt or whole-wheat pasta.
How hard is it to go organic? In California, it’s easier. It’s a lifestyle. You can go to the farmers’ markets. If you want to live longer and better, it takes a little effort. [source: OK!]
