Eggs Cholesterol

Do eggs increase cholesterol? We know that eggs contain cholesterol, so many people and health experts believe that eggs raise your bad cholesterol, but do they? Is it possible that eggs actually raise your good cholesterol?
Yep, according to a new study, eggs raise your HDL (good) cholesterol. The researchers discovered that when people ate one egg every day for 12 weeks, their HDL cholesterol rose by 48 percent, while their “bad” LDL and triglycerides did not change.
How could this be? Why wouldn’t eggs raise your bad cholesterol, and why would they raise your good cholesterol? Researchers are not sure 100 percent, but they think that the lecithin in egg yolks is responsible for the positive effect.
Some caveats: First, there is no evidence that scrambling more than one egg daily won’t end up causing LDL and triglyceride levels to rise after all.
Second, if you have a history of high cholesterol or heart disease, talk to your doctor before you overload on omelets. [source: Men's Health]
