Claim: Peppermint gum will alleviate an upset stomach.

Claim: You’ll gain weight if you eat late at night. Many people seem to believe this, but it’s not true. Registered dietitian Keri Glassman explains, “It’s not the actual hour – it’s that people who eat late at night are adding additional calories to their regular intake.”
Your waistline will not be affected if you eat the same meal at 6 p.m. or 10 p.m. It’s when you don’t burn what you eat in a given day that you gain weight.
Claim: Coffee can cure a headache. On the label of Excedrin Migraine, you’ll notice that it contains caffeine. So this must be true, right? Dr. Seth Roberts, author of The Shangri-La Diet: The No Hunger, Eat Anything Weight-Loss Plan, says that it’s definitely worth trying. “Caffeine constricts your blood vessels, which sometimes helps.”
