Digital Diet

Continued from The Thin Diet.
Could a picture be worth 1,000 calories? You better believe it – okay, maybe not that many calories, but it is a rather significant amount.
Researchers from the University of Wisconsin have conducted a simple experiment that consisted of people taking pictures of what they eat before they started eating. The result was very surprising: The group that took photos ended up not only eating less, but they also were less likely to snack after the meal, and they stayed away from second helpings.
While researchers could not come to a definitive conclusion as to why this was happening, they are pretty sure the process of taking a picture of your meal takes the impulse out of grubbing more food simply because it is there. On a subconscious level, it forces you reevaluate whether or not you actually need more food. So if you have a camera in your cell phone, put it to good use, it could help me eat less.
