If you have watched Dance Your Ass Off, you know that along with some serious footwork – and a weekly weigh-in – contestants keep food logs and meet with nutritionist Meg Werner Moreta once a week. Here are her diet tips that are designed to aid weight loss and help you keep your energy levels up.

1. Always have a carb and a protein, for both snacks and meals. And after exercising, make sure to get a good quality snack in, like fruit and some almonds, or some light string cheese.

2. Fifty percent of your diet should be plant based. Half of a plate should be vegetable based – salad or steamed or grilled veggies – a quarter should be some form of carbohydrate and a quarter should be a lean protein.

3. The time and place of your meal is important. Consistency is key. So many people do things for so long and when they do not see results they give up. But if you are consistent, you will see results. [source: OK!]
