Dance, Lose Weight: Bellydance for Weight Loss
If you’re looking for an out-of-the-ordinary everyday workout, bellydancing is not something that immediately comes to mind, but it’s an interesting option.
Taught by Greek native Rania Bossonis, the Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss series is designed to get your heart pumping and to give you a good fat-burning cardio workout that is definitely not boring.
Bossonis, an A.F.A.A.-certified bellydance instructor, studied the Middle Eastern dance around the world, won the Bellydancer of the Universe competition in 2000 and is the author of Bellydance for Fitness.
Her Too Hip workout, which is part of the Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss series, offers a unique high-energy cardio fusion of bellydance and hip hop. It lasts about 35 minutes and works your waist, arms, legs, butt and abs, as well as other muscles.
While the routine is on an intermediate-to-advanced level, and may be too much to handle at first, it’s a pretty good cardio workout and Bossonis does a good job explaining each movement. [source: Best Body]
