Cold Hands and Feet
If you often have cold hands and feet, is it normal or not? Normal!
“This is a very common condition in young women, especially those who do not have adequate body fat, explains general internist Julie Mitchell, professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
“Your body reacts to a dip in temperature by drawing blood away from the extremities to keep the vital organs warm, she adds. The solution? Boosting body fat by gaining weight or cutting back workouts.
However, in rare cases, a treatable thyroid condition could be the case. “If you’ve never had cold limbs but now need to wear gloves and thick socks all the time, whether you’re indoors or outdoors, ask you doctor to test your thyroid, suggests Dr. Mitchell. [source: Cosmopolitan]
