The Chocolate Milk Diet – really? Unfortunately, the Chocolate Milk Diet is not a joke, it really does exist, at least in the minds of those who think that chocolate milk can help you lose weight and get in shape. But do you actually need the Chocolate Milk Diet to lose weight in one month? No, you do not. What if your weight-loss goal is to lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks, can the Chocolate Milk Diet help you do that? No, it cannot.
Is the Chocolate Milk Diet good for anything? Not if you want to get in shape and lose weight. It can be used as a dessert, but that is about it. Oh, there is one more thing, a glass of chocolate milk is an okay post-workout drink, but even in this case there are much better options out there.
So, if the Chocolate Milk Diet cannot make you lose 20 pounds in 1 month, why would somebody think that it is a good diet? That’s because the Chocolate Milk Diet is not really a diet.
How the Chocolate Milk Diet works As I have already mentioned, the Chocolate Milk Diet does not work, because sweet milk is not exactly known as a viable weight-loss agent. That said, chocolate milk does contain a number of important nutrients. What are they? Calcium, vitamin D and protein. Unfortunately, there is also sugar, and milk is often fortified with calcium and vitamin D.
Now, I am not saying that drinking a glass of chocolate milk from time to time is going to derail your dieting efforts, but unless you have a documented deficiency of vitamin D and calcium, there is no need for you to drink chocolate milk. If you consume dairy and do not hide from the sun, you are unlikely to be deficient in vitamin D or calcium, not to mention the fact that it is always better to get both in their natural form – i.e., calcium from vegetables and dairy and vitamin D from the sun.
