Carrie Underwood: Vegetarian Diet
Besides her awesome new album, Carrie Underwood has a lot to “sing” about these days, namely her fit and toned body. In fact, since her 2005 American Idol stint (when she admittedly packed on some weight), the 5-foot-3 1/2 Underwood has lost about 20 pounds.
“It’s not that public opinion matters that much to me, but if somebody calls something to my attention that I’d like to change, I’ll do something about it,” Carrie says. “I’m happy with my body now.”
Carrie, a vegetarian since age 13 and an admitted junk-food lover, lost weight simply by cutting down on snacks and loading up on fruits, grains, vegetables and brown rice.
Says a friend, “Carrie even asks that all junk foods be removed from her dressing room when she’s on the road, and her tour bus is a junk-free zone.”
Carrie Underwood’s Vegetarian Diet As you may have imagined, Carrie is only human, which means that she still splurges on pizza and her ultimate vice, cheese. “That’s the beauty of a vegetarian diet – it’s the nondiet,” explains Gary Null, a natural health and wellness expert and author of Gary Null’s Power Foods: The 15 Best Foods for Your Health.
“The human anatomy was designed for digesting greens, seeds, legumes, fruits and vegetables, so it’s the most natural diet,” he says. “For many people, it works when nothing else does.” [source: Life & Style]
