Carnie Wilson Weight Loss

Carnie Wilson’s weight loss of 50 pounds is a monumental achievement. After starting a diet and exercise program in the spring, Carnie Wilson’s weight loss of 50 pounds is now a reality.
After gastric bypass surgery in 1999, she went from 300 pounds to 146. Sadly, Carnie slipped back into bad habits through the years. But now, after following a sensible regimen, she is at a healthy 160 and is determined to keep the weight off.
The following update on Carnie Wilson’s weight loss comes from a recent interview. Here it is:
People often hit a plateau. How hard was it losing the last few pounds? The last eight or 10 pounds have been excruciatingly difficult. The weight loss slowed down, no matter what I did. Things happen – work, life, stressful times – and I would find myself having an extra tablespoon of peanut butter at night. The calories added up.
How did you persevere? It’s taken a lot of talking to myself at night: “Gotta reach this goal, gotta reach this goal!” My natural way of dealing with anxiety is food. I’ve changed my attitude.
Do you have any cheat foods? I bake cheesecake for other people and taste it and spit it out. Every six or seven weeks, I have a tiny bite of dark chocolate and I actually will say, “You can swallow this. You deserve to taste something that you love.” My saviors are baby carrots, hummus, natural peanut butter, baked yams and almond butter sweetened with agave.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about food? People should eat more raw foods. I feel like I’m literally eating the earth and it’s feeding my body the way it wants to be fed. It takes time to chop vegetables, but you have to make the time.
Your original goal was 150 pounds, but you’ve stopped at 160. Why? I changed my mind because I want to get pregnant now. My ultimate goal is to be somewhere around 155. I’ll get there, but for this time in my life I wanted to lose 50 pounds and then get pregnant.
What size dress do you wear? I’d say size 10 is the average. I have big boobs: double Ds. Getting into dresses is hard since I’m an 8 in my hips and a 12 in the bust. I bought four pairs of Jag jeans in size 8. They’re all too big. I should have bought the 6 because they went right on! [via]
