While calorie shifting diet tricks work great in most cases, there is no best way to burn calories. In your case, or in any case for that matter, it does not really matter how you burn 2,000 calories, the end result will be the same.
Mix things up; do the first combination for a week or so, then do the latter combination for a few weeks, then switch it around. The idea here is to keep your body guessing, and prevent it from easily adopting to the one the other routine.
