That’s right! Rapid weight loss plus the kind of intense, non-stop energy kick you want from a diet pill… and more. Much more!�

That is the opening for the Zantrex-3 two-page spread advertisement, which is currently in many magazines.

Ephedra was banned, so it seems rather odd to compare the two.

And yes, there is much more. The ad continues with the following charade claims:

“Here’s another fact: Zantrex-3 is way beyond ephedrine, way beyond fat-burners, way beyond anything on the market today.

Zantrex-3 is a new category of bifurcated weight-loss compounds providing both rapid weight loss and incredible energy combined into a single power-packed Super Pill.

Zantrex-3 is so powerful you won’t find it in any supermarket next to some “Flintrock� vitamin for kiddies.�

I won’t find it in any supermarket? That is funny. On the same page it says “Now available at: Walgreens, Rite Aid, GNC, and Wal-Mart.�

As for “beyond ephedrine� and “way beyond fat-burners� claims – Zantrex-3 contains niacin and a proprietary blend of common stimulants (caffeine, guarana, yerba mate, ginseng, and more) – which are found in many so-called fat-burners and diet pills.

But rapid weight loss? I do not think so; there are no credible scientific studies to back up such claims. Okay, so diet pills that go overboard with unfounded claims are common, but the second page of the same ad is interesting.

They get quite creative and pull out the “Britney’s diet pills� card. The article seems to suggest that Britney Spears has been using diet pills – specifically Zantrex-3 – to help her stay trim.

How did they come to that conclusion? According to an article in the ad, Britney Spears “was spotted scrambling around on the floor for a container which appeared to contain appetite suppressant Zantrex-3, popular with millions of Americans.

Appearing frustrated, Britney bent down to pick them up and keenly stuffed them into her bag.�

As far as I can tell, the bottle in the picture does not look like Zantetrex-3’s bottle. It has a different shape and appears to be only partially blue.

To their credit, though, there is a notice which says “…the republication of this article is not intended to and does not constitute a commercial endorsement or approval of Zantrex-3 by Britney Spears.

Ms. Spears neither endorses nor in any way recommends the use of Zantrex-3.�
