Breatharianism: Sunlight Diet

Breatharianism: Sunlight DietContinued from The Chocolate Diet.

Believe it or not, breatharianism is a concept where followers claim food and water are not necessary — sustenance can be obtained only through chemicals of the air we breathe.

On a similar scale, the Sunlight Diet — a.k.a. the HRM Phenomenon for its alleged founder, Hira Ratan Manek of India — calls on staring at the sun for an hour a day and occasionally drinking a cup of tea or water.

We would’ve asked an optometrist about this, but we were afraid it might’ve sent him or her into cardiac arrest.

Skeptics have lined up to pick these diets apart and while fasting is an important part of many religions around the world, starving your body of the nutrients and vitamins it needs is obviously retarded has harmful consequences.
