Bone Marrow Donor
Become a lifesaver Registering to be a bone marrow donor used to require a blood test. Now you can sign up needle-free. At Marrow.org, potential donors take a short quiz; those who pass receive a swab kit to collect inner-cheek cells.
After you mail back the sample (and pay a $52 tissue-typing fee), the site adds you to the registry. You’d be called to donate only if you match a patient in need. [via Self]
