Bob Harper‘s skinny rules are hardly revolutionary or original. Do Bob Harper’s skinny rules work? Can Bob Harper’s skinny rules help you lose weight in 3 days? Can Bob Harper’s skinny rules help you lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks? I hope most people already know that it is virtually impossible to blindly predict how much weight one can or cannot lose. So I am not going to make any weight-loss predictions here with regard to his so-called skinny rules.
That having been said, generally speaking, the rules are practical and useful. There are only five rules, which make them easy to follow, but I do not completely agree with all of them. 1. Drinking water is good for your skin and metabolism. Drink a glass of water before each meal and every morning.
2. Bob’s refrigerator is always stocked with eggs. Why? Because they are a perfect source of protein and healthy fats. In addition to eggs, consume lean protein every day and preferably at every meal. While there is no shortage of high protein foods, here is the short list of the best sources of protein: grass-fed beef, organic poultry, wild fish, egg whites, and high quality protein powders.
3. Do not eat meat for one day each week. That means no animal protein of any kind. What can you eat on that day? Greens and vegetables.
4. Do not eat before going to bed. Ideally, go to bed hungry. Why? Because during the night your body will burn your bodyfat, but only if you stop eating three hours before going to sleep.
5. Which fruits contain one of the highest amounts of fiber and antioxidants? Apples and berries, of course, which is why it is a good idea to eat them every day. Fiber helps keep you satiated.
