Best Way to Burn Calories

What is the best way to burn calories? Is there such a thing as the best way to burn calories to begin with? In How to Burn Calories, we have described a number of exercises that can definitely help you burn calories, but while it is nice to know which exercises can help burn calories, people want to know the best way to burn calories.

Why spend the time on testing five different exercises if you can use only one that works the best? I hear you, but here is the reality: If you are looking for the best way to burn calories, you are wasting your time. Why? Because there is no best way to burn calories.

Sorry, it just does not exist – what works for you, might not work for somebody else. Maybe you can burn 200 calories in 30 minutes, by, say, cleaning your house. Does it mean that another person can burn 200 calories in 30 minutes by cleaning the house? No, it does not because there are too many variables that influence how many calories a person can burn in a certain amount of time.

That said, the best way to burn calories does exist. I know, I just said it does not exist, but the best way to burn calories has to do with not eating more calories than you need. What am I talking about? Eating your favorite treats will cost you, dearly.

So, instead of worrying about the best way to burn calories, educate yourself about the cost of indulging in high-calorie foods (see the picture-chart above). Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that you should suppress your craving – it is never a good thing to do that.

However, if you know what it takes to burn off, say, an ice cream sundae, you might think twice before following that up with, say, a frozen margarita. Be sensible about your favorite treats – that is all I am saying.
