Avoid Synthetic Antioxidants
If you are taking antioxidants to help prevent disease, here is something to keep in mind:
According to a recent report which was recently published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, the synthetic versions of vitamins E, A, and beta-carotene often found in popular supplements may increase your risk of death by 16 percent.
The researchers theorize that the manufactured supplements probably interfere with the body’s natural immune system response, which makes a good case for getting all of the nutrients we need from a healthy diet.
In other news, ConsumerLab has tested eleven popular milk thistle supplements and only four brands passed the test.
