Ashley Tisdale’s workout is trendy and odd. What is so strange about Ashley Tisdale’s workout? It is a combination of boxing and Pilates. I am not sure if it a good idea to combine the two together. I think it makes more sense to incorporate weight lifting into Pilates. Anyway, Ashley Tisdale’s workout is called Piloxing.

How did you come up with the concept? I wanted to create a fun cardio workout that would allow women to feel both sexy and powerful. So I combined two of my favorite disciplines, Pilates and boxing – that is, the powerful feeling of throwing solid punches, with weighted gloves, then transferring to Pilates and using your core for balance. Both are extreme workouts.
What muscles does Piloxing target? Everything – arms, legs, butt, abs, obliques and waistline.
How many times a week do you recommend taking a class or doing the DVD? For the best results, three times a week.
How do you perceive body image in Hollywood? Do you prefer girls with lean bodies, or for clients to keep the curves? I believe in healthy, fit bodies. If that includes having curves because of your body type, you should embrace it.

You couldn’t be more wrong about combining Pilates and boxing. Whereas straight weight-lifting has it’s added bonuses, it creates a bulkier look for a female. By wearing the weighted gloves during Piloxing, you’re getting the strength building that weights give you but mixed with the cardio of the movements and the focus on Pilates moves, you get the effects of the long and lean look rather than bulky. You burn calories, have fun AND tighten. It’s the first workout where I feel I’m actually getting the results I’ve always wanted – I’ve finally found the perfect mix. Please don’t judge until you’ve tried. It’s AMAZING and will be around long after the “trends” disappear.
