Okay, Ashlee did look slim and trim while posing in a bikini for Shape magazine’s June issue. Then again, the shoot took place on Feb. 28, long before she and her fiancé Pete Wentz, 28, announced their engagement.

But when Shape magazine sought out Ashlee, 23, she admits she was surprised. See, I am not alone, even Ashlee was surprised.

“I never thought I’d be on the cover of a magazine in a bikini,” says Ashlee. “But now is the time and place to show the world how I’m feeling about myself. I’m happy and definitely more confident than I’ve ever been before.”

Confident about what? I guess she is confident about the way her body looks. In fact, she is so confident that she shares her workout tips.

Mike Alexander, the trainer who helped Jessica Simpson get in shape, comes to Ashlee’s house, where she has a treadmill, an elliptical and dumbbells. “I love it when my arms are toned, so we use weights to target them – and we do lunges to give my small butt more shape,” says Ashlee.

But Ashlee’s arms are not toned! Madonna’s arms are toned on the other hand, so maybe Ashlee should consider hiring Madonna as her personal trainer.

Mike also has her jog down the 30 to 40 steps in her backyard. “It’s the kind of workout you can easily modify depending on where you are, because hotels, office buildings and homes usually have stairs,” says Mike. [source: Star]
