Do these diet pills work outside la-la land? The Federal Trade Commission does not think so.
Xenadrine EFX, CortiSlim, One-A-Day WeightSmart and TrimSpa (NV did not make the list this time), have been fined a collective $25 million for absurd false and deceptive advertising claims.
Apparently, these companies “confused� scientific evidence with “testimonials from individuals�.
Xenadrine EFX did better than that – they did not disclose “a study showing that people who took a placebo lost more weight than those taking� Xenadrine EFX.
None of the fined companies admitted to any wrongdoing. [source: chron]
