Adderall: Weight Loss

Hi. I have heard that Adderall works great for weight loss, but I’m not sure what it’s. Can you please tell me if it is a good idea to use Adderall if I need to lose 10 lbs? Thanks, Tom. [via Ask Questions]

Adderall was prescribed many years ago as an appetite suppressant, but today it is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Its side effects are not pleasant: dehydration, high blood pressure, and nausea. So no, it is not a good idea to use it to lose weight.

It is all relative, of course, but 10 pounds is not that much weight to lose. Increase your activity level, improve your diet and I am sure you will be well on your way to losing 10 pounds.

Adderall may also turn you into a zombie, and losing even a large amount of weight isn’t worth that.
