Yo-Yo Exercising Increases Fat CellsBody fat increases by enlarging existing fat cells (fat cell hypertrophy) or increasing the number of fat cells (fat cell hyperplasia).

Until recently, scientists thought that the number of fat cells was fixed in adults, but could be influenced by exercise and diet during childhood.

Now, we realize that things aren’t that simple. Scientists discovered that overeating combined with decreased physical inactivity can trigger increased fat cell production.

This makes people more prone to obesity, because they have more places to store fat. (more…)

Katie Holmes: Skinny or Anorexic?In light of what appears to be Katie Holme’s sudden weight loss, a lot of people are asking these questions: Is Katie Holmes too skinny? Is Katie Holmes anorexic?

“The bones in her back were already protruding and her arms were tiny,” says one person who saw Katie at the premiere of Mad Money.

There is no reason to believe that Katie Holmes is anorexic, but she does look rather skinny, in my opinion. Her current weight is estimated to be about 110 pounds.

“Katie has always worried about her weight,” says an insider. “She just went on a diet to lose an extra 10 pounds. She gained a few pounds in Europe but now she’s lost it all and then some.” (more…)
