I do not understand the net carb calculation. If I subtract fiber from total carbs on the Balance bars(low Carb) i do not get 2 net carbs. Is there more to the equation? What do I do about the sugar alcohols? Do I subtract them from the total carbs? Michael. [via Ask Questions]

To answer your question, you do not need to count sugar alcohols and fiber, and yes, you need to subtract them from the total carbohydrate count. For example, the chocolate peanut butter Balance bar contains the total of 22 grams of carbohydrates. (more…)
